Traditional Performing Arts Event Organization in Kanazawa
ServiceA platform to showcase Kanazawa's unique 'Japanese cultural lessons'
In order to raise awareness of traditional performing arts passed down in Kanazawa, such as "Kanazawa Subayashi" and "Kaga Hosho," the foundation organizes events in collaboration with the "Kanazawa Subayashi Children’s School" and "Kaga Hosho Children’s School." These events serve as a platform for children to present their achievements while also promoting these traditional arts to a wider audience.

What are the Kanazawa Subayashi Children’s School and Kaga Hosho Children’s School?
These are schools established to pass down Kanazawa's traditional performing arts, Kanazawa Subayashi and Kaga Hosho, to the next generation. With a curriculum that includes lessons twice a month over a two-year period, many children have already had the opportunity to learn Kanazawa's traditional arts.
Kanazawa Subayashi Children's School

Since 2005, the City of Kanazawa, with the cooperation of the Kanazawa Subayashi Preservation Society, has been offering this program. With lessons held twice a month, children practice in sections by instrument, such as shamisen and other parts, and an annual performance is held. Under the guidance of professionals, children are able to experience traditional performing arts and acquire performance skills.
Kaga Hosho Children’s School

Since 2002, the City of Kanazawa, with the cooperation of the Kanazawa Noh Association, has been offering this program. Through lessons held twice a month, children learn the basics of Noh theater and perform at the annual presentation and the "Hyakumangoku Takigi-Noh" held during the Hyakumangoku Festival. Under the guidance of professionals, children can experience traditional performing arts and also learn proper etiquette.
