Supporting the Rich Cultural Legacy Passed Through Generations in Kanazawa

In order to preserve and nurture Kanazawa's traditional performing arts, the foundation implements the Grant Program for Traditional Performing Arts in Kanazawa. The program focuses on the training of Geigi, the main practitioners of traditional performing arts such as Kanazawa Subayashi, a designated intangible cultural asset of Kanazawa City, as well as traditional Japanese dance and song. Through the provision of incentive grants to those starting new careers in traditional performing arts, and to those who provide guidance, the foundation aims to promote the revitalization of Kanazawa’s traditional performing arts.
