In order to preserve and nurture Kanazawa's traditional performing arts, the foundation implements the Grant Program for Traditional Performing Arts in Kanazawa. The program focuses on the training of Geigi, the main practitioners of traditional performing arts such as Kanazawa Subayashi, a designated intangible cultural asset of Kanazawa City, as well as traditional Japanese dance and song. Through the provision of incentive grants to those starting new careers in traditional performing arts, and to those who provide guidance, the foundation aims to promote the revitalization of Kanazawa’s traditional performing arts.
Kanazawa Traditional Performing Arts Employment Incentive Grant (Grants for New Geigi)
To promote the development and growth of Kanazawa's traditional performing arts, this grant is provided to newly appointed Geigi in Kanazawa to assist with the purchase of essential items such as obis, kimonos, and wigs. The goal is to secure and stabilize the number of practitioners and contribute to the inheritance and development of Kanazawa’s traditional culture.

Kanazawa Traditional Performing Arts Training Incentive Grant (Incentives for Ryotei Owners Who Provide Training)
To promote the development of Kanazawa's traditional performing arts, this grant is provided to traditional Japanese Ryotei owners who have trained Geigis in Kanazawa. The goal is to foster new performers, improve their skills, and contribute to the inheritance and development of Kanazawa’s traditional culture.
